Blind Fury Is More Than A 'Battle Rapper'

A little over two years ago, Blind Fury became a household name when he won 106 & Park's "Freestyle Friday."

Hard work and persistence are the elements, Blind Fury, a South Carolina native, put together to finally release his debut album, Young.And.Gifted.Always.  This project was 3-4 years in the making and he's excited to share it with the world.

Appearing on BET's 106 & Park was a great way to gain exposure but there was one perception he had to work against.

Blind Fury explains:

"[Appearing on 106&Park] gave me a lot of exposure. It put my name and face in front of a lot of people. That really helped out a lot, it made people aware of what I was doing.

"It [Freestyle Friday] boxed me in that whole 'battle rapper' thing. I don't like to be tied in with all that. It's cool if that's what you do, then that's what you do."
