Teacher Forced to Resign After 'Princesses: Long Island' Appearance

Parents and students rallied outside a school district meeting in Long Island Wednesday in support of former Merrick Avenue Middle School teacher Stefan Serie. NBC New York reports that the 30-year-old middle school teacher was forced to resign after he appeared shirtless as an extra on the Bravo reality show "Princesses: Long Island."

After the episode aired on June 2nd, in which Serie is shown shirtless in the pool, he reportedly was urged to resign by the school district’s office. In the episode, there was drinking and fighting, but Serie didn't seem to take part in either. Serie has been a teacher for eight years, but according to him, his tenure was taken away and if he didn't resign he was told his unemployment benefits would have been taken away as well.

NBC New York reports that Serie and his lawyer plan on filing a lawsuit against the school if he doesn't get his job back.
