Round Two: Democratic Mayoral Debate Set For Tonight

The NYC mayoral race is starting to heat up with just less than three weeks to go until the Sept. 10 primary. The candidates are starting to point fingers and take jabs at one another as the front runners become clearer on both sides. Tonight (Wednesday, August 21), the Democratic candidates will take part in their second major mayoral debate.

Tonight's debate will be the first overseen by the Campaign Finance Board and the front runners Christine Quinn, Bill de Blasio, and Bill Thompson are all expected to take part. Anthony Weiner is also expected to be in the debate at Town Hall at 7pm tonight. According to the NY Times, under the Campaign Finance Board's rules, any candidate that has raised and spent $50,000 on their campaign along with at least 2 percent of the votes from either the Marist or Quinnipiac polls can participate in the debate.

The debate will be airing on NY1 and last 90 minutes.
