Rockaway Ferry Service Extended Through Labor Day

Rockaway Ferry Service Extended Through Labor Day

City officials announced Tuesday that Rockaway ferry service will continue through Labor Day. The ferry to Manhattan began in November after Hurricane Sandy knocked out A-train service. Rockaway residents worried the service would be stopped once the A-train got back up and running, but it looks like riders will continue to have another option in getting to Manhattan through at least the summer.

AM New York reports that the ferry costs passengers $2 each way, easing the commute to and from the Rockaways during the morning and evening rush. The Rockaway ferry service was previously extended in May after the A-train was up and running again.
