Police: Queens Teen Traveling 100 MPH Caused Wreck That Injures 10

(Christopher Robbins) Police say a 17-year-old was driving in excess of 100 mph on the Cross Bay Boulevard in Queens on Friday afternoon before causing a three-car crash that injured ten people. According to the Daily News, Gurdip Miltani lost control of his Honda sedan around 4:30 p.m., jumping the median and slamming into two oncoming cars. The posted speed limit on the stretch of road where the crash occurred is 40 mph. "I've lived here all my life," a resident told NBC. "I'm doing 40 through here, they're doing 90, 100 past you. It's crazy."

Three of the ten that were injured were in critical condition, while five more were in serious condition. Two suffered minor injuries. The road was closed for five hours, forcing residents and workers in Broad Channel to walk across the North Channel Bridge. “It’s amazing no one was killed,” a police source told the Daily News.
