NYC Gets Initial Approval for '.nyc' Domain

New York City is one step closer to getting its own piece of the World Wide Web. According to the Wall Street Journal, Mayor Bloomberg and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn announced Tuesday that that the city got initial approval for a ".nyc" domain online. Officials say that registration for .nyc domains should open later this year for residents and offices in NYC.
