Ellis Island Reopens For First Time Since Hurricane Sandy

Ellis Island is set to reopen today for the first time since Hurricane Sandy. The island was badly damaged and without power for months following Sandy and still has to go through more repairs. However, Ellis Island will be open to the public on Monday.

NY1 reports that only the halls and buildings themselves will be open to visitors on Monday, with more repairs needed before the artifacts can be returned to the island. The artifacts survived the storm, but had to be moved to a different location.
