Mother's Day took a terrible turn Sunday for a 78-year-old man in the Bronx. The elderly gentleman was buying flowers to honor his mother's memory and was mugged on his way home. According to the NYPD, two men approached the victim from behind and pulled the man to the ground taking his gold chain.
NBC New York is reporting that a police officer in the area saw the mugging take place and chased after the suspects. The officer was able to catch one of the men, a 23-year-old, but the other suspect got away. The man who was caught is being charged with robbery, resisting arrest, and criminal possession of marijuana.
