Angelina Jolie wasn't the only woman with a surprising revelation this week. New York City Council Speaker and Democratic mayoral candidate Christine Quinn recently revealed in an interview with the New York Times that she struggled in the past with bulimia and alcoholism.
Quinn told the Times that her struggle with bulimia began when she was 16, while caring for her dying mother. At the time she felt if she was the perfect daughter (getting thinner and earning better grades) her mother might get better. Quinn's mother died when Quinn was a high-school junior. According to the NY Times interview, Quinn went into rehab at the age of 26.
